Oman today_ The “Avatar” trilogy has now become the highest-grossing film series in history. The latest installment, Avatar: Fire and Ash, earned nearly $450 million in less than a week, pushing the total earnings of the first three Avatar films past the Star Wars trilogy.
To date, James Cameron’s films have grossed a total of $5.66 billion, roughly $1 billion more than the final Star Wars trilogy. Other top-grossing trilogies in history include Jurassic World, Spider-Man, and The Lord of the Rings.
The first Avatar film, released in 2009, earned nearly $3 billion, while the second installment in 2022 brought in over $2.3 billion. With its strong reception, Avatar: Fire and Ash continues to break box office records.
