The International Volleyball Federation officially announced today the top-ranked player of the year, recognizing Michletto for his outstanding performances in both club and national competitions. This honor highlights his dominance in global volleyball and his significant impact on this year’s tournaments.
The year 2025 was exceptional for Michletto. He helped Trentino win the Italian Serie A championship, adding another prestigious title to his achievements. His impressive performance in the Nations League also earned him a spot as one of the two top receivers on the tournament’s Dream Team.
Michletto’s peak performance came at the World Championship, where he led Italy to consecutive world titles for the second time. His remarkable display earned him the Most Valuable Player award of the tournament and paved the way for his recognition as the world’s best player in 2025.
In the final rankings, Alexander Nikolov of Hungary finished second, while Simone Gianelli, captain of Italy’s national team, claimed third place. Players ranked fourth through tenth had been announced earlier, showcasing the highly competitive and thrilling nature of top-level international volleyball.
