Oman today_ In the latest 2025 Numbeo Air Quality Report, Oman ranked as the second cleanest country in Asia, highlighting the success of the nation’s ongoing environmental efforts. Singapore tops the list, followed by Oman, recognized as one of the continent’s cleanest countries.

Oman’s Environmental Authority stated that this achievement is the result of multiple initiatives undertaken in recent years to improve air quality, ranging from the enforcement of strict regulations to the use of modern monitoring systems and better management of industrial activities. The authority also noted that public awareness about the importance of clean air has played a key role in this progress.

However, conditions across Asia are far from uniform. Many countries continue to struggle with severe pollution, particularly in areas where rapid industrialization, heavy traffic, and seasonal phenomena increase airborne particulate matter. Southern and Eastern Asia still record the highest pollution levels, with major cities affected by industrial emissions and vehicle exhaust.

In contrast, countries with strong environmental regulations, natural ventilation from coastal locations, and precise emission control policies such as Singapore, Oman, and Japan have managed to secure a higher position on the list of Asia’s cleanest air.
