Oman today_ Reheating starchy foods may have a reduced effect on weight gain. Many people enjoy eating pasta, potatoes, and other starchy foods, but due to concerns about gaining weight, they often limit their consumption. Recent research shows that when these foods are first cooled and then reheated, their starch structure undergoes a change.
In a practical study, nutrition experts served volunteers reheated pasta and monitored their blood samples every 15 minutes over a two-hour period. The results revealed that pasta, after being reheated, loses its original starch properties, which in turn reduces the likelihood of weight gain.
