Oman today_ The United Arab Emirates Football Association has announced that it no longer intends to host the AFC Asian Cup 2031 and has withdrawn its earlier bid. The decision was released without further explanation, removing one of the key contenders from the competition to secure hosting rights. The UAE had submitted its proposal in April, but with its withdrawal, the contest now remains between other candidates, including Australia, India, Kuwait, Indonesia, South Korea, and the joint bid from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. It now remains to be seen which of these candidates will ultimately be selected by the Asian Football Confederation to host the 2031 edition of the tournament.
