Oman today_ Birmingham City has unveiled its new 62,000-seat stadium, featuring twelve tall towers resembling chimneys that can be seen from as far as 40 miles away. Club chairman Tom Wagner described it as the “Colosseum of the modern era” and emphasized that the goal is to create something unique that will put Birmingham firmly on the map.
The stadium features a retractable roof that closes in 20 minutes and a movable pitch, allowing it to host ice hockey, NFL, rugby, or large concerts. The project also includes the development of the “Birmingham Sports District” on 60 hectares of land, with a £3 billion investment.
During the unveiling ceremony, a video featuring Jude Bellingham, Tom Brady, and Paul Anderson was shown, highlighting how the project connects different generations and talents. Wagner stated, “Our goal is to permanently transform the city’s skyline, and this stadium is meant to conquer Birmingham’s skies.”
