Oman today_ Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve, located in southeastern Oman near the village of Ras Al Hadd, is one of the world’s most important nesting sites for green turtles. Every year, large numbers of these turtles return to the beaches of the reserve to lay their eggs. The reserve also serves as an educational and visitor center, allowing guests to learn about the turtles’ life cycle and the importance of protecting their natural habitat. Established by royal decree in 1996, Ras Al Jinz was designated as a protected area to conserve both the turtles and their surrounding environment.
