Oman today_ The theme for the 2026 Met Gala has been announced as “The Art of Dress.” This selection coincides with the celebration of the opening of the Condé Nast Galleries, a space covering approximately 1,115 square meters (about 12,000 square feet) located adjacent to The Met’s Great Hall and dedicated to the exhibition of fashion.
This year’s exhibition, inspired by the idea that “fashion is art itself,” will explore the inseparable relationship between clothing and the human body.
Selected garments from the Costume Institute’s archives will be displayed alongside masterpieces from the wider collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art—including paintings, sculptures, and designs—to highlight the profound connection between fashion and the fine arts.
