Oman today_ The Royal Oman Police has announced that the deadline for foreign residents to regularize their residency status and settle financial obligations and penalties related to visas and residence has been extended until December 31, 2025. This measure has been taken to facilitate residency procedures, support individuals and employers, and align with the country’s economic and humanitarian policies.

Foreign nationals who wish to update their residency status through visa renewal or intra-country service transfer can benefit from exemptions on penalties associated with expired visas and residencies. These exemptions will be applied following final approval by the Ministry of Labour.

Those who intend to permanently leave Oman may also complete their legal exit process without incurring penalties related to visa or work residency expiration.

The Royal Oman Police has urged all foreign residents and employers to take advantage of this opportunity and promptly regularize their residency status and financial obligations to avoid potential fines and legal issues, while making the most of the country’s legal and economic opportunities.
