Oman today _ The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has issued new regulations for motorists who wish to decorate their vehicles with stickers in celebration of Oman’s National Day. These guidelines aim to ensure that festive decorations are applied in a safe manner and in accordance with traffic regulations.
According to the announcement, drivers are permitted to adorn their vehicles from 5 to 30 November 2025, but certain restrictions must be followed. Altering the color or shape of the vehicle and using unauthorized stickers is strictly prohibited. Stickers must be securely and properly affixed so as not to compromise the safety of the driver or others, and all images used should be appropriate and relevant to the occasion.
The rules specify strict placement limits: decorations cannot be applied to front or side windows and are only allowed on the rear window, provided they do not obstruct the driver’s view. Stickers must not cover lights, license plates, or other safety-critical parts of the vehicle.
Using fabric, banners, or any coverings on the hood, or making modifications that could impair visibility or airflow, is also prohibited. Furthermore, the use of the national crown emblem on stickers is not permitted, in accordance with national symbol regulations.
These new measures reflect the ROP’s commitment to balancing festive celebration with road safety. By following these guidelines, drivers can decorate their vehicles for National Day while ensuring safe driving and compliance with national regulations.
