Oman today_ Warner Bros. has officially announced that the animated film “Hello Kitty” will be released in the summer of 2028. First unveiled in 2021, the project is considered one of the most anticipated animation adaptations in recent years.

The beloved character Hello Kitty, created by Yuko Shimizu in 1974 for the Japanese company Sanrio, has evolved over the past five decades from a simple design on stationery and accessories into one of the most recognizable cultural icons in the world. Following Pokémon, it remains Japan’s second most profitable franchise, with a legacy spanning anime, comic books, video games, and countless merchandise that have captivated multiple generations.

Although details about the film’s plot have yet to be revealed, Beau Flynn, a well-known Hollywood producer, is attached to lead the project. His company, Flynn Picture Co., is also producing the live-action adaptation of “Moana” starring Dwayne Johnson, which is set to premiere in July 2026.

Given Hello Kitty’s global popularity and Warner Bros.’ involvement in the production, the film is widely expected to be among the highest-grossing animated releases of 2028.
