Oman today_ The feature film A Little Before Midnight (Un peu avant minuit), the latest work by Nicolas Pariser, began its theatrical run on September 29 and will continue until November 7. According to Cineuropa, Golshifteh Farahani is among the cast of this film, which marks Pariser’s fourth feature following The Great Game and The Green Perfume.
The leading role is played by Melvil Poupaud, who was nominated for the César Award for Best Actor for By the Grace of God and Just the Two of Us, and is set to appear next year in Fresh Water for Flowers.
Joining him are Léonie Simaga — who previously appeared in two of Pariser’s films and was recently seen in the series Le Négociateur — Chiara Mastroianni, a César nominee in 2020 for On a Magical Night and star of the upcoming Victor comme tout le monde and Demain je tombe amoureux, and Golshifteh Farahani, a 2014 César nominee for The Patience Stone and recently seen in Alpha, all of whom play supporting roles.
The cast also includes Clara Ponsiny (The Ice Tower) and Anaïs Demoustier, winner of the César Award for Alice and the Mayor, who will appear next year in La Vénus électrique.
The story follows a 49-year-old man who, just as he is about to separate from his wife, learns of the death of his biological father — a man he has never met. On his way from Nancy to Italy, he decides to spend a few days in Paris to reflect on his past and present. This brief pause turns into an inner journey that compels him to question his very existence and his relationships with women.
A Little Before Midnight is being shot over 29 days in Paris and Ferrara, Italy. Julia Mingo serves as the film’s cinematographer, and Benjamin Esdraffo composes the score.
