Oman today_ From 2027 onwards, all newly manufactured vehicles will be required to comply with new regulations aligned with international standards, designed to enhance safety and protect the environment. The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP), through the Directorate General of Standards and Metrology (DGSM), is reviewing and aligning international regulations for 2027 vehicles.
These regulations have been introduced to reduce emissions and ensure the implementation of advanced safety systems in vehicles. Additionally, compliance with the national regulations of the Gulf Standardization Organization (GSO) member countries will be mandatory for vehicles exported to these countries.
Furthermore, vehicle recalls in GSO member countries are required, and all manufacturers must register complete recall details in the Mutabiq platform. All vehicles exported to GSO member countries must have their Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) uploaded and activated in Mutabiq. The GSO also emphasizes that warranty agreements must be provided for all vehicles marketed in GCC countries, regardless of the importer.
