Oman today_ Andrea Iervolino, the Italian producer, is taking on the life of legendary New Zealand driver and engineer Bruce McLaren in his latest film project. The biographical film, made in collaboration with the McLaren family, will be shot in New Zealand and the United Kingdom, and will explore the personal and professional journey of McLaren.
The cast includes Nicholas Hoult as Bruce McLaren, alongside Anthony Hopkins and Al Pacino in key roles. Hoult, acclaimed for his performances in The Favourite and Tolkien, will portray a man who, despite suffering from a rare bone disorder in childhood, went on to become a pioneer in Formula One racing.
Bruce McLaren was the founder of the McLaren Racing team, which remains one of the most iconic names in Formula One history. At the age of 22, he became the youngest driver to win a Grand Prix at the time. He tragically died in 1970 while testing the M8D race car at the Goodwood Circuit.
Iervolino, known for producing films such as Ferrari and Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend, said: “This film is not just about a race car driver; it’s about a mindset that transforms pain and limitation into creativity and achievement.”
