Oman today_ The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism of Oman organized a workshop focused on “Artificial Intelligence in Tourism Promotion.” The workshop aimed to improve efficiency within the tourism sector and empower its stakeholders to keep pace with global technological advancements. It was attended by marketing and sales personnel from hotels, travel companies, and tour operators.
The workshop focused on teaching practical applications of AI, including content creation for promotional purposes, sentiment analysis, and predictive targeting. The goal was to enable participants to leverage AI to enhance marketing performance and improve the competitiveness of Oman’s tourism destinations.
The programme also featured regional and international case studies on the use of AI in the tourism industry. This segment aimed to raise the professional capabilities of tourism sector workers and familiarize them with global best practices. A supplementary training session was also held, focusing on the ethical use of AI tools and the analysis of tourism data for designing impactful promotional and marketing campaigns.
The Ministry announced that it will soon launch a sustainability-focused training programme through its Partner Support Platform. This initiative seeks to enhance the capacity of tourism professionals and promote a balance between tourism growth and the preservation of natural and cultural resources.
The workshop is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to build the capabilities of the tourism sector and prepare it for future challenges in alignment with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
