Oman today_ The Independent Watchmaking Brand Ressence, Renowned for Its Innovative and Cutting-Edge Designs Since 2010, Has Recently Unveiled a New Model Named Type 8 Indigo. This Handcrafted Timepiece, Inspired by the Art and Traditional Design Style of Japan, Represents a Fusion of Artistic Elegance and Advanced Technology.
Type 8 Indigo is part of a special project focused on incorporating indigo-colored fibers into watchmaking. The dial of this model, crafted from 2.5 meters of Japanese silk thread over two days, features a spiral design. These threads display a gradient of colors ranging from light to deep blue, giving the watch a unique visual appeal. To accommodate the precise placement of the threads, the watch’s dial has been meticulously machined to lie perfectly flat beneath the domed sapphire crystal.
The mechanism of this watch utilizes ROCS (Ressence Orbital Convex System) technology, powered by a modified ETA 2892/2 movement. This system, with a 36-hour power reserve, ensures continuous and accurate time display. The rotating main dial and sub-dials, replacing traditional numerals, create a modern and minimalist appearance.
One of the standout features of Type 8 Indigo is the absence of a side crown. Instead, time adjustments are made by rotating the case back, offering users a uniquely streamlined experience. The markers and scales on the dial are coated with Super-LumiNova, ensuring excellent visibility even in low-light conditions.
With a polished titanium case and a weight of only 42 grams, this is the lightest model in the Type 8 series. A gray leather strap and titanium buckle complete the design. Notably, only eight pieces of this model have been produced, each priced at 25,000 Swiss francs (approximately $30,800). Type 8 Indigo stands as a symbol of artistry, technology, and exclusivity in the world of watchmaking.
