Oman today_ The golden season of tourism is approaching in Dhofar Governorate, located in southern Oman, which is now ready to welcome millions of visitors.
Dhofar is preparing for the Khareef season, which begins every year in June and lasts until September. During this period, the mild climate and lush natural landscapes, especially in the city of Salalah, make it an attractive destination for tourists.
According to the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism of Oman, more than 100 official tourist sites across the governorate have been prepared to accommodate visitors this year. Additionally, the accommodation capacity in the region has increased to 7,300 rooms, including hotels, furnished apartments, and tourist camps.
Official data show that over 1,048,000 people visited Dhofar during the Khareef season of 2024, reflecting a 9% increase compared to 2023.
The Ministry of Tourism has announced that, in order to enhance the visitor experience, new facilities have been introduced and necessary coordination with relevant authorities has been made to ensure the safety and comfort of tourists.
Furthermore, cultural activities, festivals, and local exhibitions are expected to play a significant role in attracting both domestic and international tourists to Dhofar.
