Additionally, the Socrates Award, recognizing humanitarian efforts and promoting solidarity, will be given to both men and women. The nominees for these awards will be announced in early August, with expectations of a highly competitive race among the players.
In previous years, the timing of the ceremony often clashed with international match schedules, preventing many female players and key coaches from attending. Organizers now hope that these changes will lead to fuller attendance and a better event overall. Last year’s ceremony was also controversial, as Real Madrid boycotted the event after their player Vinicius Junior did not receive the Best Player award.
