Oman today_ The Oman Public Services Regulatory Authority has announced special discounts on household electricity bills for the summer of 2025 to ease the financial burden on families. This plan, which will be implemented from May to the end of August, coincides with the stabilization of electricity tariffs this year and aims to reduce costs. In May, consumers with usage between 0 and 4,000 kWh will receive a 15% discount, those using between 4,001 and 6,000 kWh will receive a 10% discount, and those exceeding 6,000 kWh will receive a 5% discount. In June, July, and August, the discounts will increase to 20%, 15%, and 10%, respectively. Furthermore, disconnection of electricity services for household subscribers is prohibited during the summer, and electricity companies are obligated to offer installment payment options for bills. These decisions are intended to support household welfare and manage consumption during the intense summer heat. Eligible subscribers can register their information in the National Support System to take advantage of these facilities.
