Oman today_ Citizens and residents can start planning now for a four-day holiday in January 2026, as two official public holidays conveniently fall alongside the weekend.
Sultan’s Accession Day will be observed on Thursday, 15 January, while Al Isra’ wal Mi’raj will fall on Sunday, 18 January.
By including the regular weekend holidays on Friday, 16 January, and Saturday, 17 January, these dates combine to create a continuous four-day break.
This schedule follows the official release of Oman’s national and religious holiday calendar for 2026. The early announcement has been warmly welcomed by residents, businesses, and tourism operators, allowing better planning for travel, family gatherings, and leisure activities.
Providing the holiday calendar in advance is also expected to boost domestic tourism and give both the public and private sectors greater clarity in organizing operations and events for the year ahead.
