Oman today_ Starting today, the capital of Qatar will host the official kick-off of the Arab Cup 2025, a tournament whose organizers promise to offer the highest prize money in the history of the competition.

The previous edition, held in 2021, one year before the Qatar World Cup, attracted special attention from FIFA and concluded with the Algerian national team claiming the championship. The 2025 edition, however, marks a significant leap in prize money, with total rewards reaching $36.5 million, an increase of $11 million compared to the previous tournament.

Under this scheme, the champion team will receive $7.1 million, while the runner-up will earn $4.2 million. Third and fourth places will receive $2.8 million and $2.1 million, respectively. Additionally, every participating team will be granted a base prize of $715,000, and teams reaching the quarterfinals will receive an extra $1.7 million.

With such substantial prizes and extensive media attention, the Arab Cup 2025 has become one of the region’s most significant football events, and thrilling, closely contested matches are expected to take place in Doha.
