Oman today_ International tourism to the Sultanate of Oman experienced significant growth last year. Between September 2024 and August 2025, the number of tourists visiting Oman increased by 7 percent. A report by the international company ForwardKeys indicates that the first half of 2025 saw remarkable growth in tourism to Oman, particularly from European markets. Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands experienced more than a 44 percent increase in tourist arrivals, while Switzerland recorded a 35 percent growth.
The Gulf markets also contribute significantly to tourism in Oman, accounting for approximately 40 percent of total incoming tourist traffic. Tourist arrivals from Bahrain grew by 30 percent and from Qatar by 8 percent, while the Singaporean market saw an increase of over 34 percent.
Statistics further show that global searches for trips to Oman grew by 43 percent between September and November of this year. Additionally, the capacity for international flights to Oman from September 2025 to February 2026 is set to increase significantly: 31 percent from Italy, 24 percent from the UK, 253 percent from Russia, 83 percent from Switzerland, and 56 percent from Malaysia.
ForwardKeys emphasized that Oman’s tourism sector continues to grow and presents promising opportunities from both Europe and Asia. The growth in European markets indicates Oman’s success in attracting luxury and cultural tourists, strengthening its position as an alternative destination to European countries.
