Oman today_ Bimmah Sinkhole, located in the Muscat Governorate of Oman near the villages of Dibab and Bimmah, is one of the country’s most famous natural attractions. This natural sinkhole, with its clear turquoise water, offers a perfect spot for swimming and wading. Stairs and easy access paths make it simple for visitors to enter the water safely. Surrounding the sinkhole, Hawiyat Najm Park provides green spaces, benches, and picnic areas, along with basic facilities such as restrooms and free parking.
The site is also ideal for photography and enjoying natural scenery, with the combination of turquoise water, rocky walls, and surrounding greenery creating a striking and memorable experience. New projects are underway to enhance visitor experiences, including short-term accommodation (glamping), walking and cycling paths, and outdoor recreational activities.
For the best visit, it is recommended to go early in the morning when it is quieter and the light is ideal for photos. Wearing appropriate footwear is advised due to rocky edges, and those who are not experienced swimmers should be cautious because of the sinkhole’s depth.
