Oman today_ The Governor of Gilan announced the launch of a direct round-trip flight between Rasht and Muscat, stating that this initiative could play a significant role in boosting tourism and promoting the province’s economic development.
Hadi Haghshenas met with Gholamreza Zolfaghari, CEO of Asajet Airlines, to discuss the expansion of international flights to Oman as well as air routes to cities along the Caspian Sea, conducting the necessary evaluations and planning. The purpose of this collaboration is to strengthen the province’s air connectivity and increase both domestic and international flights.
The Governor of Gilan emphasized the importance of developing the province’s aviation infrastructure and called for an expansion of domestic and international routes to further enhance tourism opportunities, attract investment, and support economic growth.
Haghshenas also highlighted the capacity of Rasht Airport and the province’s strategic location, urging officials from the Civil Aviation Organization to facilitate the issuance of permits and proper planning to enable direct flights to neighboring countries, especially Oman, as well as to cities along the Caspian Sea.
In conclusion, the Governor stated that with the ongoing coordination, the direct Rasht–Muscat flight will soon become operational, and it is expected that this new air route will create fresh opportunities for tourism and economic development in the province.
