Oman today_ According to the latest UNESCO update, Iran ranks 10th in the world with 29 sites inscribed on the World Heritage List. These include 27 cultural heritage sites and 2 natural heritage sites, reflecting the richness of the country’s history, art, and natural beauty. At the top of the list, Italy, China, and Germany hold the first three positions.
Among the notable Iranian sites on this list are Persepolis and Naqsh-e Jahan Square, Chogha Zanbil, Pasargadae, Arg-e Bam, Gonbad-e Qabus, the historic city of Yazd, the Lut Desert, and the Hyrcanian forests.
