Oman today_ The Royal Oman Police (ROP), on behalf of the Directorate General of Traffic, has issued a safety advisory for motorists driving on roads affected by sandstorms and dust carried by strong winds.
The ROP emphasized the importance of exercising extra caution under such conditions and advised drivers to follow essential safety measures to prevent accidents and ensure road safety. According to the ROP, “Drivers are advised to reduce their speed and, when visibility is limited, to turn on their headlights and fog lights to improve visibility.”
The authority also urged drivers to maintain a safe distance between vehicles and to stay within their designated lanes. “Unnecessary lane changes should be avoided, and if visibility becomes severely reduced, drivers should stop their vehicles,” the ROP added.
