Oman today_ Saudi Arabia is undertaking a stunning project to build one of the most futuristic stadiums in history. This stadium, located in the innovative city of “The Line” within the NEOM development, is being constructed 350 meters above ground level and is set to be used for the 2034 FIFA World Cup. Its design is entirely modern, based on sustainable technologies, and will be powered entirely by renewable energy sources. The stadium will have a capacity of around 46,000 spectators, offering a unique panoramic view of the city of the future.

This structure symbolizes innovation, sustainability, and Saudi Arabia’s ambition under the Vision 2030 framework. The goal is not only to host World Cup matches but also to turn the stadium into a new tourism and economic hub within the NEOM region. The project is expected to be completed by 2032, with plans for it to host several key matches, including quarter-final games of the 2034 World Cup.

The LINE project, into which the stadium is integrated, is a linear city standing 500 meters tall and stretching over two kilometers in length. The first phase of the city is expected to be ready by 2030. This initiative is part of a broader plan to build 15 new stadiums across Saudi Arabia, the most notable of which is the King Salman International Stadium in Riyadh, with a capacity of 92,000 spectators.

FIFA has given preliminary approval to the design, describing it as a model for eco-friendly stadiums. Although the NEOM project faces technical challenges and potential delays, Saudi Arabia remains focused on full readiness for the World Cup. The NEOM stadium is set to become a landmark of the nation’s economic and cultural transformation, marking a turning point in the history of global sports and architecture.
