Oman today_ At the sidelines of the New York Film Festival, acclaimed Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi, who attended the event with his latest work “A Simple Accident,” sat down for an intimate conversation with Martin Scorsese and Jim Jarmusch. Their discussion centered on cinema, artistic resistance, and the future of the seventh art.

During the meeting, Scorsese praised the film’s powerful ending, saying that he had “never experienced anything quite like it.” He added, “Embracing Panahi is, for me, a symbolic moment that represents the greatness of independent cinema.”

Panahi, in turn, humbly paid tribute to Scorsese, describing him as “a legendary figure a god of cinema.”
