Oman today_ The Oman Investment Authority (CIA) announced that, through its “Al Jiyal” investment portfolio, it has made a strategic investment in the UK-based Salience Labs, headquartered in Oxford. In this investment round, Oxford Science Enterprises and Cambridge Innovation Capital also participated as financial partners. This investment is part of CIA’s plan to strengthen Oman’s presence in the global artificial intelligence and innovative technology value chain.

Salience Labs is developing a new generation of optical switches capable of transmitting data at ultra-high speeds using only light, without the need to convert optical signals into electrical ones. This innovative technology can significantly enhance the performance of data centers, accelerate the training of AI models, and reduce operational costs.

In addition to hardware, the company also provides advanced software solutions for real-time monitoring and management of data centers, including energy management and temperature control. These capabilities make Salience Labs an ideal choice for modern, high-performance data centers and enable it to meet the future needs of the digital industry.

The goal of this investment is to strengthen Oman’s position in international technology value chains and support the localization of advanced digital technologies. Previously, the CIA has invested in companies such as XAI, Sense, Gradiant, Turing, and Crusoe Energy, aiming to create an integrated ecosystem of software, infrastructure, and advanced technologies, positioning Oman as a regional hub for artificial intelligence.
