Oman today_ The International Technology Exhibition COMEX 2025, held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, serves as a platform to present the latest digital initiatives of the Royal Oman Police. These efforts are being pursued within the framework of national strategies and with the aim of achieving the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
Colonel Abdullah bin Saeed Al Kalbani, Director General of Information Technology, stated that the Royal Oman Police is prioritizing the development of technological infrastructure and the adoption of innovative digital solutions. He explained that this direction improves the quality of services while enhancing security and public trust.
Among the innovations showcased is the use of digital identity as a replacement for passports at electronic travel gates, as well as its application in the secure verification of financial transactions — measures that strengthen both the speed and safety of procedures.
In addition, a range of civil e-services has been introduced through the police mobile application. Users can view their passports and identity cards, update contact numbers for individuals and children under the age of 18, access data related to sponsored workers, and benefit from dedicated services for investors. These features allow beneficiaries to quickly and conveniently access documents and information via their smartphones.
In the field of traffic services, several new solutions have been launched, including the electronic issuance of license verification certificates, printing of new driving licenses through self-service kiosks, a smart appointment booking system, and a digital platform for driving license testing.
For prison management, a new service enables individuals to schedule in-person visits or book video calls with inmates directly through the police application. This initiative, introduced in select governorates as a first phase, eliminates the need for beneficiaries to visit the General Directorate of Prisons in person.
