The Conjuring universe, which includes spin-offs like The Nun and Annabelle, has now grossed over $2.3 billion, solidifying its status as the most successful horror franchise in history. The triumph of Last Rites, following last year’s commercial misfires such as Joker: Folie à Deux, Mickey 17, and Knights of Althar, signals Warner Bros.’ strong comeback with recent hits including Minecraft, Sinners, Final Destination: Bloodlines, and Superman.
