Oman today_ In Hunan Province, China, there are over 3,000 natural quartzite sandstone pillars that resemble the skyscrapers of a modern city. These stunning rock formations, along with rivers, lakes, waterfalls, and 40 limestone caves, as well as the world’s tallest natural bridge—which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site—are all located within Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Climbing this natural “skyscraper” doesn’t require rock-climbing skills, as the world’s tallest elevator, known as the Bailong Elevator or locally as the “Hundred Dragons Elevator,” rises 326 meters and makes reaching the top much easier.
