Oman today_ Sultan Haitham Smart City has won the top award for landscape and outdoor space design at the 2025–2026 Arabian Property Awards. This achievement was the result of a collaboration with international firms LWK & Partners and Meinhardt.
The project aims to create harmony between human-centered design, environmental considerations, and smart urban planning principles. Open spaces, green corridors, and pedestrian-friendly pathways have been carefully designed to enhance quality of life and improve daily interactions between residents and public spaces.
Amal bint Muslim Al Zidiya, a landscape architect and urban planner at the Executive Office for Future Cities, stated that this recognition affirms Sultan Haitham City’s commitment to sustainable design. She added that the project successfully strikes a balance between functionality and beauty, enriching the role of urban spaces in everyday life.
The city’s development is underway with the participation of both local and international firms specializing in design and engineering. Infrastructure construction and the first residential neighborhoods are progressing within a comprehensive master plan aligned with the highest urban development standards.
The Arabian Property Awards, part of the broader International Property Awards, recognize projects that achieve professional excellence in architecture and urban development. The judging panel consists of leading experts in design, planning, and urbanism from around the world.
This recognition strengthens Sultan Haitham City’s position as a national model for forward-looking urban development and confirms its alignment with Oman’s Vision 2040 goals.
