Oman today_ The film Coyote vs. Acme, which was initially shelved by Warner Bros. Studios, is finally set to be released on August 28, 2026, by Ketchup Entertainment. This $70 million movie stars Will Forte, John Cena, and Lana Condor, and follows the story of Wile E. Coyote, who, after repeatedly failing to catch the Road Runner using Acme products, decides to sue the fictional company.
The film blends comedy, adventure, and a satirical take on the American legal and corporate system. As the lawsuit unfolds, Coyote teams up with his lawyer to take the case to court, where the former executive of Acme—played by John Cena—is the opposing party. Along the way, an unexpected relationship forms between the two characters.
The screenplay was written by David Green and Samy Burch. Ketchup Entertainment, which had previously resurrected the Looney Tunes animated film The Day the Earth Blew Up from the archives, acquired Coyote vs. Acme as well, paying $50 million for the project.
During a Comic-Con panel, the film’s cast and voice actors humorously discussed the production process and the story behind the film being shelved. The first clips of the movie were also shown. Unlike films such as Space Jam, this work was created without the use of artificial intelligence or sports celebrities, focusing instead on classic storytelling and strong character development.
