Oman today_ Disney has released the first official poster for Avatar: Fire and Ash, while also announcing that the film’s trailer will debut this week ahead of screenings of The Fantastic Four: First Steps in theaters. The trailer had previously been shown behind closed doors at CinemaCon and was leaked online in low quality last week.
In this third installment of the Avatar franchise, a new tribe known as the Ash People is introduced. This group represents a more peaceful aspect of Pandora and stands in opposition to the Fire People. The story follows Jake Sully and his family as they ally with the oceanic Metkayina clan to take on the corporate threat of the RDA (Resources Development Administration).
In one scene from the trailer, Jake Sully—played by Sam Worthington—tells Neytiri, portrayed by Zoe Saldana: “We can’t live like this, babe. We can’t live with this hate.”
Avatar: Fire and Ash is scheduled for release on December 19, 2025. In addition to this film, Avatar 4 and Avatar 5 are currently in development, with planned release dates in December 2029 and December 2031, respectively. Director James Cameron revealed last year that he has plans for sixth and seventh installments, though he may pass the directing responsibilities for the later films to other filmmakers.
The second installment, The Way of Water, was produced with a budget of approximately $400 million and went on to gross over $2 billion worldwide.
