Oman today_ Robert Wun’s latest haute couture collection, titled Becoming, once again placed deep psychological and philosophical concepts at its core. This collection was not designed to be worn in a conventional sense, but rather to reflect the complexities of human emotion.
Elements such as bloodstains on the garments served as metaphors for pain, failure, and destruction—symbols Wun uses intentionally to evoke a sense of ambiguity and stir the viewer’s subconscious.
Additional hands featured in some of the designs represented external, controlling forces. At the same time, they referenced the figure of Kwan Yin, symbolizing the multifaceted roles of women as mothers, wives, and entrepreneurs.
The final look of the show was a wedding dress topped with a small doll placed on the bride’s head—a powerful metaphor for the societal pressures and expectations placed on women, particularly in relation to marriage.
