Oman today_ Oman Air, along with Visit Oman, has introduced a new program called the Stopover Programme, offering travelers the chance to explore Oman’s natural and cultural beauty during their international journeys.
This program, which is being implemented for the first time in Oman, allows travelers to stop over in Oman for a short period ranging from 4 hours to 4 days. They can enjoy a variety of attractions, including the vibrant city of Muscat, beautiful mountains, golden deserts, and pristine beaches. The experience includes stays at luxurious 3, 4, and 5-star hotels, convenient transportation, and various tours.
This initiative was first unveiled at the 2024 World Travel Market in London, and the first phase is now available through the official website, omanair.com. Travelers can easily plan their stopover and make reservations online, with access to dedicated support.
Given that thousands of passengers pass through Muscat International Airport each week, this program offers a fantastic opportunity to introduce Oman’s rich culture and hospitality to the global tourism world. In addition to showcasing Oman’s tourist attractions, the initiative is also expected to support economic development and trade exchanges.
In related news, Oman Air has announced the launch of new flights between Muscat and Amsterdam starting July 1, 2025. This new route will become Oman Air’s 11th European destination and will be operated with the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. These flights will create new opportunities for tourism and business exchanges and will strengthen Oman’s economic and cultural ties with European countries.
