Oman today_ The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has announced that the US$1.3 billion Al Khuwair Muscat Downtown and Waterfront Development project is progressing as planned and will enter the implementation phase by the end of the year. Designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, the project spans 3.3 million square meters and includes a marina, a waterfront area, a canal walkway, a cultural quarter, and a ministry complex. This initiative is part of Oman’s National Spatial Strategy and Vision 2040, aimed at promoting sustainable development and ensuring the equitable distribution of residential areas in Muscat. Additionally, the study for relocating the Ghala Industrial Zone has been completed, and plans to improve Muscat’s infrastructure are underway.
