Oman today_ The United Arab Emirates has launched a new app called “Platable” with the goal of reducing food waste. This platform allows users to purchase leftover food from restaurants and grocery stores at discounts of 30% to 60%. Salman Mohammed, the founder and CEO of “Platable,” explained that the app helps restaurants sell their excess food, which would otherwise be discarded. This initiative not only helps customers save on food costs but also proves profitable for restaurants, generating additional income for them. Additionally, this business model provides a valuable opportunity for individuals who are unable to afford meals from restaurants. Currently, the platform operates in Dubai, with plans to expand to other parts of the UAE.
