In a highly important match, Ivory Coast delivered a commanding performance, overcoming their modest opponent with decisive goals. Amad Diallo of Manchester United opened the scoring in the 20th minute, followed by Yan Djourou converting another shot into a goal in the 32nd minute, putting the three-time African champions ahead. The third goal came in the 87th minute, scored by Bousmane Touré.
Ivory Coast will face a strong Egypt team on Saturday in Agadir, led by their star player Mohamed Salah, as both sides vie for a spot in the semifinals. On the same day, Algeria and Nigeria will clash in Morocco to determine the other semifinalist.
