Speaking about the moment, Beckham said:
“I could not feel prouder. Everyone knows how much I love my country. I have always said that my family and the royal institution mean a great deal to me. I have been fortunate to travel around the world, and people often speak about our royal family — and that is a tremendous honor for me.”
During his professional career, Beckham earned 115 caps for England and served as team captain from 2000 to 2006. He played in three FIFA World Cups and two UEFA European Championships, remaining one of the most iconic figures in world football.
