Oman today_ Taylor Swift has once again pushed the boundaries of the music industry with the release of her new album, “Life of a Sugargirl.” The first-day sales of the album were so remarkable that they set new records in vinyl sales, and now the singer has promised to release 8 special acoustic tracks for her fans.
“Life of a Sugargirl” secured the second-highest first-day sales in modern music history. On its first day, a total of 2.7 million physical and digital copies were sold, marking a new personal record for Swift. The only album that comes close to this figure is Adele’s “25,” which sold 3.37 million copies in the same period.
Swift’s twelfth studio album also broke the record for the highest vinyl sales in a single week, selling 1.2 million copies and achieving the year’s top figure. Previously, Swift herself had set the record with her album “Folklore” with 859,000 vinyl copies sold during the same time frame.
Alongside this impressive success, Swift announced today that 8 new acoustic tracks will be added to the album. These songs will be available for 24 hours through four limited-edition CDs on her official website.
In her Instagram post, Swift wrote: “I think my favorite moments on the tour were the acoustic surprises. That’s why I went back to the studio with Max to record acoustic, stripped-down versions of some ‘Sugargirl’ tracks with entirely new vocals and arrangements. I can’t wait for you all to hear them.”
