The award was originally scheduled to be presented in Italy, but Soleimani, due to the circumstances caused by the Iran–Israel war, chose not to leave his country and decided to remain alongside his people and family. This decision received wide coverage in international and European media and drew considerable attention.
The award ceremony took place at the EU Beamlines Science Center on the outskirts of Prague, with the attendance of prominent artists and cultural figures, including Carlos Mata, a renowned Mexican actor; Freiman Jabarzadeh, an Iranian singer; Andreas Giorgou, a Greek actor and director; Baza Romano, former cultural diplomat at the Italian Embassy in Tehran; Nikola Kataki, a Greek professor and journalist; and Klaus Fuxjäger, cinematographer and professor of cinema at the University of Brai.
The event was organized by Teresa Racan, coordinator of the Amicorti Festival in Central Europe, with the support of Tomasz Klaja and the collaboration of Namerta Rossi, the festival’s founder.
