Oman today_ Andrea Iervolino, the Italian producer whose name is closely tied to Ferrari, is now set to create a biographical film about Giorgio Armani, the legendary designer who passed away on September 4 at the age of 91.
According to Iervolino, the idea for this project was conceived months ago, with the goal of “honoring one of the most remarkable creators in the world of fashion and a lasting symbol of Italian identity.” He believes that Armani’s passing has once again highlighted the global significance of his name.
Academy Award–winning screenwriter Bobby Moresco, known for Crash, has joined the project to write the screenplay. Moresco is also currently directing Maserati: The Brothers, featuring Al Pacino, Anthony Hopkins, Andy García, and Jessica Alba.
The upcoming film aims to portray the personal and professional highs and lows of Armani’s life, showing how he became one of the most influential fashion designers of modern times. Known for his calm and reserved personality, Armani shared many years with Sergio Galeotti — his business partner and Italian architect — who died of AIDS in 1985. It remains unclear whether Armani’s family will be involved in the project.
Iervolino, who previously produced works such as To the Bone and the upcoming Deep Water, stated that this film “can be a source of pride for the people of Italy.”
