Oman today_ During the official two-day visit of Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Iran, to Muscat, the two countries signed 18 cooperation documents, including five cooperation agreements, ten memoranda of understanding (MoUs), and three executive programs, in the presence of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik at Al Alam Palace.
These agreements cover diverse sectors, including security, healthcare, media, technology, culture, urban development, commerce, entrepreneurship, mining and energy, legal and judicial cooperation, and trade. The three executive programs focus on technical and vocational education, cultural exchange, and tourism.
Following these agreements, Sultan Haitham bin Tarik issued Royal Decree No. 65/2025 on 4 September 2025, ratifying the framework agreement for joint cooperation signed in Muscat on 27 May 2025. According to Article 2 of the decree, it is effective from the date of issuance.
The two countries also discussed expanding banking cooperation to facilitate trade and investment, aiming to strengthen financial ties and support the implementation of the newly signed agreements.
These developments reflect the deepening of Iran-Oman relations and the two countries’ commitment to regional stability, mutual cooperation, and enhanced collaboration across various sectors.
