According to Bill Kramer, the Academy’s CEO, and Janet Yang, its president, stunt work has been an essential part of filmmaking since the early days of cinema. David Leitch, a former stunt performer and now a director, described this decision as a historic achievement. This initiative will give a more official standing to the profession of stunt work within the film industry.
