Oman today_ Oman has secured the 58th position among 184 countries worldwide in the Economic Freedom Index, with a score of 65.4 out of 100. This ranking places Oman among countries with a relatively free economic environment.
Iran, on the other hand, remains at the 169th position globally with a score of 41.5, showing no change in its ranking compared to the previous year.
The Economic Freedom Index is evaluated based on 12 key criteria, categorized into four main areas: “Rule of Law,” “Government Size,” “Regulatory Efficiency,” and “Open Markets.”
In the Middle East and North Africa region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Israel are recognized as the most economically free countries.
Globally, Singapore, Switzerland, Ireland, and Taiwan have earned the highest scores, making them the world’s freest economies in the 2025 ranking.
