Oman today_ The Sultanate of Oman achieved significant progress in implementing its digital transformation program, “Tahawal,” in 2024, with plans underway to accelerate it further in 2025. This initiative aims to deliver approximately 80% of essential government services online by the end of 2025.
Key Achievements in 2024:
Overall Performance: The digital transformation program reached 73% progress (compared to 53% in 2023).
Simplified and Digitized Services: To date, 2,680 services have been streamlined, and 1,700 services are now offered digitally, achieving 67% of the set target.
Global Ranking: Oman advanced 9 positions to secure 41st place in the UN E-Government Development Index.
Leading Entities: Muscat Governorate, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, and the Royal Oman Police were recognized as top-performing entities.
Major Initiatives:
Digital Platforms and Services: Development of an integrated government services portal, launch of a unified mobile app, and introduction of platforms like Tashil, Taqah, and Naqi.
Digital Transactions: Over 26.989 million government transactions were conducted digitally, with 77% user satisfaction reported.
Goals for 2025:
Complete the digitalization of all government services.
Launch a national open data platform and enhance awareness and adoption of digital services.
Align with Oman Vision 2040 to enhance government efficiency, drive sustainable development, and improve citizen access to innovative services.
